Bend don't break
Bend don't break

The world is overflowing with control and rules especially in the health and fitness industry and staying fit and well seems to be overcomplicated. As women we feel under pressure to align to these rules and 'shoulds' which creates fear and drives our perfectionist behaviour as we constantly strive for unattainable targets. This is compounded as we age given the fact that these rules and targets are set for younger versions of oursleves and even more so often, set for men.

Salvador Dali said 'have no fear of perfection, you'll never reach it'

How about we let go of that approach and instead align ourselves to guiding principles which are adaptable and flexible and support us through the many changes and challenges we face as women?

Understanding oursleves and having tools and techniques which build strength and resilience of both mind and body empower us to take charge of our overall wellbeing and live the life we want every day.

It doesn't mean we stop striving to be the best version of oursleves, it means we are replacing the complete fiction of perfectionism with a flexible, agile approach to life that can support us through all stages of our life.

'The oak fights the wind and breaks. The willow bends and lives on' Robert Jordan

Every one of you is unique and each day/week/month is different let's embrace this and learn to bend like a willow tree.
